Highland Bleach

Crack fanart time.  Are y'all ready for this??
ok..... drawing Ichigo as a Highlander was fun as hell.
highland dancing suits Rukia, no?

So.  You know Rukia's theme song according to Tite Kubo right?
(it's in the special character data published in the 2nd volume of the Bleach manga)
It's 'Wing-Stock' by Ashley MacIsaac recorded in his 1995 album 'Hi, How Are You Today'
Which is really wild.  Because MacIsaac is a Canadian fiddler from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.  He's kind of the bad boy of Canadian East Coast music (according to his Wiki).
It's insanely wicked that one of his songs had enough of an effect on a Japanese mangaka to assign it as a theme song to one of his main characters.  Even though 'Hi, How Are You Today' went double platinum the spread of influence is still impressive.

'Wing-Stock' begins with a calm piano ballad that picks up tempo and turns into a dynamic celtic tune.  After a transition, the tune is suddenly picked up by the fiddle and played with blazing fast speed, accompanied by drum set, giving the traditional tune an alt-rock makeover.
What the hell- just listen to it here: Ashley MacIsaac: Wing-Stock (Youtube)

When you've grown up in Nova Scotia (it means 'New Scotland' for a reason), celtic music holds a special place in your heart.  You can't listen to this music and not think of highland dancers, tartan kilts and pipers.  I friggin' love them bagpipes. Fiddlers are goddamn rock stars.

So..... when the combination of Scottish pride (though secondary) and anime fandom become too much crap like this happens
